Champion Community Investments (CCI) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) economic development organization with the primary goal of improving the quality of the lives of the residents of communities within Franklin, Jackson, Jefferson, Perry and Williamson Counties that make up its membership. CCI is governed by a Board of Directors, people who live and work for the betterment of the region.
CCI supports and encourages the creation of a diverse economy, which is recognized as vital to regional sustainability. In order to further our mission of diversifying our area’s economy, the Board of Directors offers this site as a reliable source of information and interaction among the leaders of and advocates for Southern Illinois.
The future of our communities is closely tied to regional collaboration on projects that will benefit all. Since 2006, CCI has provided low-interest lending solutions for area small businesses and micro-entrepreneurs. With the United States Department of Agriculture Rural Development programming, CCI has raised over $3 million in business capital for regional growth and investment. In September 2013 CCI was designated as a Community Development Financial Institution by the United States Department of the Treasury, further solidifying this organization’s role in economic and community development in Southern Illinois.
